A: Immanuel is a church plant. In the current season of our life together we meet monthly for worship services. In between our monthly services, we gather in home groups once a month, host a community potluck once a month, and meet for prayer once a month. We will launch weekly services in the Lord’s timing when we have the resources and people to sustain our church.
A: Our monthly worship services are held at the Memorial Building (308 W. 7th St, Columbia) just off the square. Our monthly community potluck (4th Sunday of the month) is held at Riverwalk Park (102 Riverside Dr, Columbia). Home groups and prayer gatherings are held in various homes.
A: Anglicans are Christians worship and practice as described in the Book of Common Prayer. You’ll find some similarities to other sacramental, liturgical traditions and some similarities to reformed traditions as Anglicanism takes the via media, i.e. the middle way.
If you’re a reader, The Anglican Way by Fr. Thomas McKenzie is a great introduction to Anglicanism. If a short you tube series would be helpful, our bishop, Alex Cameron, did a four part intro series covering the foundations of Anglicanism (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4).
A: Our sending church is Church of the Redeemer in Nashville and we are part of the Diocese of Pittsburgh in the Anglican Church in North America.
